"Did Manchester and Stockport have more saunas in the past that have now closed?"
Yes, there was a good one in an old pub in the Rochdale road area close to the city centre, that shut down a long time ago, does anyone remember it? about 3 years ago, one opened up in the Railway arches, close to the Salford train station in the city centre. It was really nice in there but really quiet, lack of parking spaces, I think.
That leaves only three saunas in Manchester:-
The Basement, open 24/7, on Tariff Street, near Pic station,
I've been there more than I care to remember, but it can be quite boring after a while.
Pennine Sauna in Shaw. This is a really tiny place, but been going for a very long time. They have a sauna, steam room and one dark-ish play room. It's frequented by a lot of older guys, which I don't mind in the slightest. I've been involved in a many orgy there, a lot of group fun happen. Opening times are really weird too, so it's a pain. Busiest day/time is Wednesday, from 11am till 3pm.
And there's H2o, next door to Clone Zone gay shop in the village, just close to Canal Street. I've not been for years, I always found it a little on the small side.
Sauna Sauna in Northwich is by far the best place to go these days. Shame really as Manchester is such a huge gay centre, you'd think there would be better facilities around, and not too close to the centre.
Anyone else want to put anymore input, please do so!
