An invasive alien plant is taking over the Thames and is growing up to 20cm a day. If the Floating Pennywort isnt dealt with soon, an expert said, it will be too late

Just posting to apologise for assuming you were someone else when I read the post title. Regulars will understand.

Sounds serious although the species name is straight out of Beatrix Potter and sounds charming.

I have visited Thailand, several times.

I did a boat trip, up the Chao Praya river, which runs through the middle of Bangkok.

I was amazed, at the huge volumes of large, green floating weeds, coming down the river.

They were all over the place.

It sounds similar to the post headline.

Henry Bolton has asked the Royal Botanical Society to rename the Floating Pennywort the UKIP Rose as he believes it's the only way they will get a toehold in Westminster.
