Will the new porn block affect this site, and/or FabGuys? I like it, here. I'm a security freak and there's no way I'm uploading anything about my ID. I feel that the Net is a difficult place to trust.

It's hard to get any concrete evidence on whether it's coming in or has been postponed again.

"What exactly is this point block? "

The proposals to block porn sites in the uk unless you upload proof of age which generally means credit card details or passport or other highly identifiable document!

It's been delayed before but theoretically was to be introduced in April.

Undoubtedly the MP behind it will have financial ties to the company primed to milk this. They're openly contemptuous of us, corruption is small beer, what's going to happen to them? Nothing, because they set the rules by which they're governed

i think this law is a total lack of respect for us adults who like to get a load off ,there are sites out there that let you download and up load old vintage gay bi etc ,so for me this is taking the piss we pay taxes and follow the letter so why fuck our freedom,do think its a way for tracking us like the id card thing ,and what is with all the dna sample sites of late think that is a way to get us all on record .

Much more relevant is even if it is a good idea, it'll make zero difference as the law only really applies to websites hosted in the UK. ISPs may well ban offshore sites, but only re-actively and I doubt it will be with the same sort of alacrity with which they get rid of the really bad stuff.

I think that the numbers of male on male, and male on female r.a.p.e.s. will go through the ceiling, if a guy can't work his lust out in front of a computer. The Law would certainly prefer him to stay in "that night"!

I agree, the benefits of these types of "release" are vastly underrated by those bigots in power.

Do we know "porn" is judged as such? Hard porn? Soft porn?

Just googled.

How will I prove my age?

There are lots of different companies developing age-verification software.

So there are likely to be a few different ways you'll be asked to prove your age, depending on the site you visit.

It could mean entering your phone number, email address, or credit card details.

It could also mean going to a shop, handing over ID and collecting a 16-digit code to use on a porn website.

MindGeek, the biggest online porn company in the world, has introduced its own age verification service.

It owns streaming sites like Pornhub, YouPorn and RedTube, as well as production studios including Brazzers.

The company's product AgeID expects to sign up between 20 to 25 million UK users.

Although the final details of what its age verification process will be hasn't been announced yet, a spokesperson told Newsbeat: "AgeID has multiple third parties covering such methods as a Credit Card, mobile SMS, passport and driving licence.

"However, the regulations pertaining to which age verification methods are to be compliant with the law have not yet been published nor made their way through parliament, therefore AgeID will adapt as these come to light."

Many U.S. Sites have had age verification for years. It's nothing new.

You all seem to object but none of you had suggested an alternative. The new laws are to try and stop those underage from accessing porn. Surely that is a good thing.

Yes it is, the problem people have is that they worry about what information they will have to give to various porn sites in order to gain access to them.

It has long been asserted that organised crime have connections with some porn sites. Would you be happy giving say your credit card or passport details to a company with links to those types of organisations?

You're welcome

Apparently one option may be to buy a £5 voucher from a local store (can't find a list of stockists) where you can get a code to enter to show you are over 18.

It'll be like when you used to go to the newsagents for a porn mag, I did buy them underage but never from women, only if it was a man on the counter. I bought some gay porn mags in soho and got propositioned a few times. Gay men would hang around porn shops looking for lads buying gay porn and follow them, they always knew where the nearest cottage or private spot was lol

As I got older I stopped caring and the Internet and more free porn than I could handle came along.

I do miss stumbling over porn mag stashes you used to find in lavs or in the woods or abandoned buildings, lorry parks, lay-bys lol

you can bypass it by using a VPN. I use Hola it's a Free VPN Proxy Unblocker

Access websites blocked in your country, company or school with Hola. Hola is free and easy to use! I use so I can watch Irish TV etc. I have it as a chrome extension and switch it on when I need it. you just pick other countries other than UK

The law is to prevent kids easily accessing porn.

I suspect that the whole thing is about data mining and getting the public to surrender more details for the database: and of course, given porn watching is still seemingly stigmatised publicly, then your habits can always be used against you at a later date.

VPN is the only way to go when accessing the internet these days- that and/or the TOR network.

Because they don’t understand how the internet works.

How would a VPN work, at all? Access to this site, for example, would be attempted and challenged, surely? Doesn't that call for having to do the ID thing, even if using the VPN?

No, the VPN would make it look as if you were accessing the site from outside of the UK. Sites are only required to check UK access requests.

i use a vpn that i choose to pay for. this gives extra security over a free one and more features as well. best types are those that keepno logs. plenty about , just google and loads of info. i hesitate to recomend as i feel that everyone has different needs. i just don't like all this state control.

Certain service providers block porn sites and ask for sensitive information before you can access them, this site being one of them, but fuck them and use a VPN.
